Javascript Tree Menu. Expandable Menu.

  • You can set default expanded/collapsed items and submenus.
  • After clicking on menu item selected item becomes highlighted.
  • When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. To see all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automatically scrolled! You can also specify height and width for each separate submenu.

Q: I can not figure out how to get drop-down menus to show up in the Add-Ins on my Microsoft Front Page.

A: JavaScript Tree Menu wasn't developed as Dreamweaver/Microsoft Front Page extension,
BUT you can use it as standard Javascript files. To install the menu
into your html page:

1. open the page in Dreamweaver/Frontpage
2. open html source code of the page
3. add several rows of code (<script> tags).

Notice also that some web editors won't display correctly javascript menus,
you should preview your website in the browser.



Q: I'm using your javascript onclick menu tabs. What exactly is bselectedSmItem for? I know that bselectedItem is the selected tab, but what is bselectedSmItem?

A: bselectedSmItem is index of the selected subtab.

You should use this javascript onclick menu parameter if you use   var tabMode=1;

If you use   var tabMode=0;
you should set it to:
  var bselectedSmItem=0;




Q: I was trying to work out how to set the target for a link in html tab menu

A: No,unfortunately it is not possible in Deluxe Tabs now.

But you can write your links in the following way:

Q: I have the mouseover menu working fine but want the chosen option to display in a tab under the menu.

A: Deluxe Tabs doesn't have API functions to set pressed item on-the-fly. You can set presseditem on the page loading only.

But you can use onClick event for the JavaScript Tree Menu items and call the following function toopen appropriate tab:

dtabs_itemClick(menuN, itemN);

where
menuN - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
itemN - index of a tab you want to show, >=0.
