Q: Your service is excellent and I am making progress learning the program. I was able to resolve the transparency issue thanks to your help but, but now I have another one that is stumping me.
I can get the menu to show up in my html document and it works as I hoped it would. However, no matter where I put the line of code in my html file, the down menu in dhtml always shows up at the very top of the page. The instructions indicate the following:
Copy the following code into clipboard and paste it into the place you want to have the down menu in dhtml:
<script type="text/javascript" src="newmenu2.js"></script>
For example, into a table cell:
<table>
<td><script type="text/javascript" src="newmenu2.js"></script></td>
</table>
No matter where I put the code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="newmenu2.js"></script>, the menu shows up at the top of the page.
What am I missing?
A: Check that you're using relative position for the down menu in dhtml:
var absolutePos=0;
var posX="0px";
var posY="0px";
Q: I am trying to have the selected top item in the pop up menu remain on the mouseover event after it is selected.
It seemed to be working fine when i was just testing with # as a link
but when i actually linked to different pages it returns to normal.
How do i get this to work?

JavaScript Tree Menu has only two states normal and mouseover.
Try to do the following things:
- delete var pressedItem=1; parameter from your data file
- set correct parameter on each page before you call data file, forexample:
<noscript><a href="http://deluxe-menu.com">Javascript Menu by Deluxe-Menu.com</a></noscript>
<script type="text/javascript"> var dmWorkPath = "menudir/";</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="menudir/dmenu.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript"> var pressedItem=3;</script>
...
<script type="text/javascript" src="menudir/data.js"></script>
You can also set a pressed item using Javascript API:
function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)
Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.
But notice, to use dm_ext_setPressedItem() you should know ID of selected item and subitem.
You can't get this ID after you reload your page. That is why you should write your own code on PHP.
Q: I purchased a menu system from you and someone else programmed it so I am left to fix it. When you go the page, their is a weird delay, is it possible for you to tell me what is wrong in the html javascript menu?
A: You're using additional features in the menu now
var keystrokes=1;
var floatable=1;
But there are no dmenu_add.js and dmenu_key.js files in the
http://www.domain.com/Hbsound.files/
folder on your server.
I advise you to upload all menu engine files.
Q: I purchased the most recent version of "JavaScript Tree Menu & Tree & Tabs & Window Multiple Website License", and now can't open menus from previous versions. When I try to open a custom drop down menu that was created in an older version, I get the error:
Can't open the file:
c:\webs\ltron\ltronmenudata.js
Check youre encode parameter
This happens on all of the older menus that we're trying to update............Do I have to run some type of conversion program on older menu files?
Please let me know as quickly as possible.........we have over 100 custom drop down menus out there and now it seems that we can't edit them!
A: This message means that you should change the encoding:
"Tools/Use utf8 encode"
Change this setting and then open your data files.
