Javascript Tree Menu. Expandable Menu.

  • You can set default expanded/collapsed items and submenus.
  • After clicking on menu item selected item becomes highlighted.
  • When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. To see all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automatically scrolled! Q: I have a client that wants a menu bar with all the buttons the same length.
What code might I need to do that

A: You should use individual item styles (you can create it in Deluxe Tuner application). For example:

Q: I am using deluxe-menu for the third time to create a school web site. It has worked fine on the previous two sites, but I am making a horizontal menu this time instead of a vertical menu. The menu won't align itself correctly in Firefox. I read the post in your FAQ and I set the align tag in the TD element and also the size attribute, but that didn't work.

Could you give me some suggestions. It looks fine ie IE, but not Firefox.


A: Try to specify exact value for menu width.

For example:
  var menuWidth="800px";

It's necessary to specify exact value for Mozilla browsers. It helpsto position menus correctly.


Q: If there was a way to show the links inside the html code instead of the dhtml menu js files. Shouldwe use an alternative mode as (css Style?)

A: You can move menuItems into html page directly inside <script> ...
</script> tags:

  var menuItems [

];
dm_init();
</script>

You can also use search engine friendly code and install it on yourpage before you call your dhtml menu js file.
You'll see text links in that case.

To create a search engine friendly menu you should add additional html code within your html page:

<a href="http://deluxe-tree.com">menu_item_text2</a>
...etc.
</div>

To generate such a code use Deluxe Tuner application.

Run Tuner, load your menu and click Tools/Generate SE-friendly Code (F3)



Q: How do I align sub-menus on the left for the javascript menu sample?

A: Set the following menu parameters:
