Q: A lot of things have come in between... Just a few more Q's before I order.
1)
At the bottom of the page you refer to below, there is a table showing the tmenuItems array, itemInd and " submenuInd ". But in the examples on the same page, the function "dtreet_ext_getItemIDByIndex" takes the arguments (menuInd, itemInd). Is the argument "menuInd" the same as "submenuInd" referred to in the javascript menu design??

When I highlight an item on "onload" I need to expand that item's parent(s), right? What will happen to other, already expanded nodes when I do that? Will they still be expanded or collapsed?
A: 1) menuInd is the index of a tree menu on a page, >= 0.
First menu - menuInd=0
Second menu - menuInd=1
Third menu - menuInd=2
Fourth menu - menuInd=3
...
2) Yes, the already expanded nodes will be expanded.Q: You will see I got the first level looking amazing.. this is exactly what I wanted. The interesting thing I figured out was not to use the item border.. this was messing things up. You may notice that when each item highlights.. there is a 1px white line at the separators.. but this is not produced with the item border, but rather from the separator itself which I made in two 1 pixel lines, one blue, on white.. this created that effect.
So now my only problem left is to figure out how to bring this look into the submenus. I was thinking it would be nice to use the separators in the same way throughout the submenus. There does not however seem to be a way to do this. When I tried inserting a separator into a submenu.. nothing happened... I am probably doing this wrong.
Can you please show me how to create the same look I have in the first level in the submenus.. this would be helpful.
I must say, this menu is finally starting to look the way I originally envisioned it. I am very happy. =o)

A: To add separators in submenus you should write it so:

["||-",] //second level submenus
and so on.
Try that.
Q: I want the background highlight stay on after the item is pressed in navigation bar script.
A: You can set a pressed item using Javascript API:
function dtreet_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, itemID)

Q: I need a navigation bar dhtml where on the click of certain items, server side code on the page can be called and executed.
I need to create a multiple item select menu. Sothe menu would need to remain open and allow a user to selectmultiple items and would either submit onmouseout or maybe a “submitthese selections” menu item.
