Q: The problem that I'm having is when ever the menu has an external link clicked to load in the main frame, the main menu (blue one with icons) dropped down & the frame below is moved to the bottom ofthe menu, or in other terms the menu frame stretches to the size of the menu & moves the main frame down.
A: The menu will work correctly in the cross-frame mode if you load pages into the sub frame from the same domain.
If you load pages from another domain submenus won't be shown in the subframe - they will be shown in the frame with the top-menu.
It's caused by a security policy of browsers - a script can't modify a content of pages from another domain.
Q: We have been evaluating your menu control.
But we are not able to use PNGFix javascript which is used for transparent PNG image in our down navigation bar. Your menu is transparent but it goes one layes behind. It should come on top of all with transparecy.
Your reply could help us make a buying decision.
A: Unfortunately it is really so. PNGFix javascript won't work.
We'll try to add feature to use transparent PNG images in the next version of JavaScript Tree Menu.
Q: When I stay on one page (for example "Home") аlso must have the menu-point "home" another color or font. How can I make this?
A: You should set pressed item.
Please, check the following parameter
var pressedItem=-2;
This parameter sets an index of an item that will be highlighted by default.
-2 - the toggle mode is disabled;
-1 - the toggle mode is enabled, but no items highlighted by default;
0,1,2,3,... - index of highlighted item in a top-menu.
JavaScript Tree Menu v2.4 has only two states normal and mouseover. Now we'repreparing new version of JavaScript Tree Menu. It saves it state after thereloading of the page. We're planing to release a new version during a month.
You can set a pressed item using Javascript API:
function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)
Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.
But notice, to use dm_ext_setPressedItem() you should know ID of selected item and subitem.
You can't get this ID after you reload your page. That is why you should write your own code on PHP.
You can also set the correct
var pressedItem=1;
parameter on each html page.
Q: I'm trying to have two separate menus on my web page. I read what was written in your FAQs about multiple menus, but the response was too cryptic.
It seems to me that if the dmWorkPath for each menu is declared separately, then the menus should work separately (with no interaction). I did not find this to be the case.
Do you have more complete information about creating multiple menus on one page? I would like to understand the issues.
A: David, if you want to create multiple menus on one page you should only call several data.js files with the menu.
For example you can see templates.html. You can find this file in the trial package.
