Q: I'm having difficulty understanding how to set up css drop down menus. The differences between menuStyles, itemStyles, CSS and CSSText is very unclear, and doesn't seem to be well documented.

We have several examples of the menus using css.

You should set   var cssStyle=1; parameter and then assign your stylesto the items.

  var cssSubmenu is a CSS class name for all submenus. You can set, forexample, background color, background image, borders for all submenus.

  var cssItem is CSS class names for all items (normal state, mouseoverstate) in the top menu and submenus.

  var cssItemText is CSS class names for text of all items (normalstate, mouseover state) in the top menu and submenus.

It's possible to appoint individual CSS styles for separate elements of the menu using individual item styles and individual submenu styles.

Q: That worked for the rollover drop down menu but I lost my drop shadow on the main menu. The sub-menus still have it. The preview has the drop shadow but when I view it in IE it is not there.

A: You should check the following parameters:

  var shadowLen=3;
  var shadowColor="#B1B1B1";
  var shadowTop=1;

Q: I want to remove the "Loading...", message when using AJAX to load pull down menu nodes. This is because it does not fit in with my colour scheme and sometimes it stays there when no more nodes are loaded.

Q: With the new version, my body onload function is blocked.
In our application we do something with a body onload function.
It doesn't get called if I use the deluxe-menu. If I remove deluxe-menu js files from html, it works.

Is there a way I can use deluxe-menu and get my onload handler called?

A: JavaScript Tree Menu detects any user's onload events and remember them in the case when you write a such events before dm_init(); call.

Try to delete onload event from <body> and write the following at theend of a page (after dm_init() call):
